As we embrace the grace He offers, we begin to give it —
Tim Kimmel
I have four very good reasons for studying Grace this year…
And the more I learn of it, the more I see the how desperately my mothering is in need of it. I’m praying the path from my head to my heart is a short trip. These cuties are depending on it.
I’ve been reading a great book called, Grace Based Parenting by Dr. Tim Kimmel. During the month of April, each Tuesday, I will post my thoughts, struggles, and journey into a more Grace Based parenting style. I have a feeling this will be a book I will need to re-read each year. It is packed with great truths on every page.
Dr. Kimmel’s ministry is called, Family Matters. They were kind enough to send me Grace Based Parenting and would like to provide a copy for one of you, too. Please leave a comment to be entered to win your copy. And because I want to spread the word about this awesome book, please post this giveaway on Facebook and Twitter. You can leave an extra comment if you do. I will close the comments on Sunday, and announce the winner on Tuesday’s Grace Notes post.
Tim helps us grasp what it is our children need most from us. And, just as importantly, he gives us practical, good-sense ways to give our children the security of unconditional grace-filled love. In doing so, Tim us give our children the greatest gift: a heart that yearns for God.

***And please stop by tomorrow for another Grace Story as shared by my friend ,Sara, from Every Bitter Thing is Sweet.
Sounds like a wonderful book! My husband and I have a blended family, and although we’ve been married for 6 years, our oldest kiddos are pre-teens, and our littlest is 2 1/2, and it’s so important to understand how to parent them with grace. There is so much, especially about the middle school years, that is such a challenge to parent with the wisdom and grace of God, trying to master the balance of holding on and letting go. I’d love to read this book!
You will love this book Shannon! If you don’t have a chance to get it before next Tuesday, be sure to stop by and read the intro post to learn more about it! Your home is full of moments to be a grace giver I’m sure! May God bless your beautiful family!
Have heard great things about this book! Definitely on my to read list. Would love a copy!

I have been wanting to read this book! I recently read Raising Kids For True Greatness by Tim Kimmel and it really challenged me in a lot of areas! I look forward to reading your thoughts.
I would love to win a copy of this book! We’re studying it right now with some friends and enjoying it immensly!! =)
You know I need it!
Sounds like a good book, I would love to read it. I have two boys: one is 2 1/2 and one is 4 months, lots of grace needed!!!
I would love to be entered to win! I pray for grace every day as I parent my three boys 🙂 Do you know who really helps me have grace? I have a book by Fred Rogers about parenting, and I don’t know if I can think of an individual who had more grace about him at all times and consistently spoke kind, wise words. Thanks for sharing!!!
This book seems amazing. I would love to read it 🙂
This book sounds wonderful! We’re a blended family of 7 with young adults, teens, and tweens and it seems a perpetual shortage of grace no matter how hard we try. I also teach preschool (4 year olds) and always looking for nuggets of wisdom to share with my parents. We never stop learning, do we?
Beautiful family and thanks for hosting!
Oh Heidi you will love it! Good luck!
This book sounds fantastic. I so agree with what you said here, Stacey: “And the more I learn of it, the more I see the how desperately my mothering is in need of it.” I think that’s also one of the blessings of parenting – we learn so much more of selfLESSness and both giving and receiving grace.
Thanks for this wonderful giveaway opportunity, Stacey.

sounds like a great book!
What a great pic of the four of them!!! How Lovely they each are!
I haven’t read this book… I have heard of it however. Will have to look into it. 🙂
Sounds like a powerful book, thank you for the suggestion. I am so glad to finally be able to make it a point to carve out time for me and some personal reading. What a difference it makes.
Sounds like a book I could use – with two rambunctious boys (one of whom has autism), much grace is needed!
