Dear Self,
Next year, at the end of May 2012 you will be tired. You will not have any brain cells left or be able to form complete sentences. You will lack motivation and you will dream of escaping to a tropical location with a good book. You will be crazy. Honest to goodness crazy. So here is my advice to you for NEXT year. { I only wish I had emailed you last year.}
You may not under any circumstances:
- Make any life decisions.
- Try to execute big plans like moving or rearranging furniture.
- Start a new blog.
- Make a cross country trip.
- Cut your hair.
Here are a few things you are allowed to do, next June 2012:
- Read a magical story.
- Go to the pool.
- Eat brownie batter.
- Let the house be dirty.
- Stare off into space.
- Meet a friend for cheesecake.
- Read sweet notes from your children, as pictured above.
This will feel weird as I know you are accustom to doing and not just being. But one thing I’ve learned, from this year, and the last 10 before it – at the end of May you are slap worn out. So, repeat after me “It is going to ok.” Then take the month of June to get yourself back from crazy. Enjoy your kids, and for goodness sake, make those brownies!
Whew!! Totally know that “end of May” feeling, and I did the brownie batter thing last week!! 🙂 Thanks for the reminder!
Add to that pregnancy and girl, you need to have someone else make you the brownies!!! Hope you are doing well!
Love this!!!
Love this email, Stacey! Now I can go veg because I spent June traveling, cleaning, and being emotionally drained. I guess I’ll just have to use July as my June.
Cute post.
Blessings,
Janis
Permission granted! I hope you find some time for refreshment this month!
I have many notes to self, too. Thanks for reminding me that it’s ok to rest 🙂 I love you, dear girl!
Amen! I always say, December, May & August are the hardest months of the year. I know that feeling well! I laugh at your letter to self because about 10yrs ago I started doing that after Christmas. The day I took down my decorations I wrote a letter to my self and tucked it in. I remind my self of things that are truly important..those seem different at the front of the season vs the end. I make a list of everything that needs replaced…bulbs, extra lights, etc. Maybe, I need to do that for May & August too!
Blessings!
That is a great idea! Thanks for sharing that Robyn!
Really needed to her this today. Thanks! What a great idea.
