Left: love this ruffle top from Ann Taylor Loft.
Middle: my fave CAbi jacket layered over another CAbi staple – tube top.
Right: this by far is my favorite outfit to wear. cozy sweater (also CAbi), white tank and jeans.
{I sound like a CAbi Commercial. Seriously great investment pieces that wear better than any other clothes I have purchased recently.}

So Spring Fever is in the air and so is ‘color blocking’ and I’m trying to get on board it. But, I’m not sure that I should ever put bright orange or yellow pants on my body. Ever.
And the beach is calling my name. I simply must go soon. Which for me, is not a huge commitment because I could put my toes in the sand in less than 45 minutes door to beach. But you know, it takes a village to get me and my girl crew there so I must plan ahead. And lately, I’m not so good at planning ahead.
But what I really want to do is borrow a beach house and sit and stare for about 5 days while my girls dig tunnels to China and my husband takes amazing photos of sunsets. That would be divine. So you know if you have one….
What about you? Color blocking or the beach whispering your name? It is Wednesday, let’s just chat a bit!
{linking up with lindsey today.}
Ooohhhhh, baking in the sun on a nice quiet beach is definitely calling out to me!
Don’t fear the color block. It just needs to be done correctly! Bright on top–not bottom…unless you are Colleen. You can do it! (I just bought a top at Kohls for this purpose.)
You make me smile. Always! No fear…no fear….
I’ll have to pass on the color blocking. Just not my thing. The beach house, on the other hand, sounds divine. I guess since I’m only 5 minutes from the beach, mine should count as a beach house, right? But it is still not beachy whether here quite yet.
I’m loving that CAbi sweater on the right. I need something that color.
Color blocking… I’m not quite there yet. I do like bright colors, but I usually pair them with neutrals. I want to try the colorblocking, though. I think I might like it better in one piece – like a dress that comes that way, rather than trying to put an outfit together myself. I am a little bit scared of color. lol.
Good luck getting to the beach. Here in Philly we’re not really thinking about the beach just yet. 🙂
You always look so cute in your Wednesday outfits! I am not familiar with CAbi and color blocking, so I will have to check ’em out. Obviously, I am behind in fashion circles!
I love the beach too and am so thankful that I get to spend a week there every summer.
Stacey you can so do color blocking!! Everything you put on looks adorable!
and I love you even though you are a Hoosier!! Hehehehe
Blessings friend,
Cyndi
The beach is not whispering but SCREAMING my name 🙂 I’m more of a bright color on top girl myself…color blocking just reminds me too much of the 80’s when I had much smaller thighs! 🙂 Think the bravest I’ll go is bright on top!
I would love to go to the beach. It’s only an hour from here. But being in PacNW, it is cold. Year round. 🙁 But i’m always up for going! 🙂
Otherwise I should be out of the internet and sewing or doing laundry. Kinda procrastinating. And it’s going to bite me in the butt next week when I fly away for a long weekend and don’t have enough clothes.
I have you in my reader and love your blog! 🙂
Thank you for your sweet words and welcome to 29lincolnavenue! I pray your heart is blessed! And, I would love to take my husband to the PacNW! He would love to spend hours with his camera!
Five days at the beach sounds like an inspired idea! There’s something so refreshing and soothing about the ocean. I hope you find a beach house you can borrow. 🙂
