What if I told you the point was for you to come to the end of yourself today?
I know. Stop. Breathe. Let it settle a bit. I’ve been in this place for a few days trying to work out these words:
He says, “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
But we fight it.
We wrestle.
We work in our own strength.
He has told us where He meets us.
” and finally He said to me, “My grace is enough to cover and sustain you. My power is made perfect in weakness.” So ask me about my thorn, inquire about my weaknesses, and I will gladly go on and on—I would rather stake my claim in these and have the power of the Anointed One at home within me.” 2 Cor: 12:9, (The Voice)
- It is in our weakness where His power is made perfect.
- It is in this place of surrender that His own spirit within us cries out “Abba” to the Father. (Romans 8:15,16)
- He comes.
- He minisisters deep within our hearts.
- And like a child who has fought through the night, we finally rest our weary heads in the crook of His arm and He carries us.
I was here yesterday. And I wonder, why not today just start here in the first place. I might have mentioned it here:
“I want to surrender before the wrestling. I want to be in a place where I trust my sweet Lord without the struggle. Do you struggle, too? Can I tell you something about surrender I’ve learned the hard way?? It is so much better when I just lean into His plan.” Being OK with Where You Are, chapter 2 “Let It Go”
So what if today, we came to the end of ourself at the beginning instead of fighting our way to 10AM or 3PM or 8:45PM?
What if we staked our claim into the ground of our weakest spot and we truly let His power be at home where we break every day? —> Click to Tweet
We are His daughters.
His grace covers.
His power made perfect.
In this place where I break—He breaks through.
xo,
Stacey
