Goals are good. Writing down goals is even better. I really don’t want my month to be like last Saturday when I seemed to be busy doing nothing all day long. I have no idea what got finished, I think I just moved stuff from here to there and back again. Anyway, I’m sticking with this goal thing through the end of the year and joining with Hayley to keep accountable!
Let’s look back and see progress (crossing fingers!)
Spiritual:
1. Continued space healing for my grieving heart. —-> Sigh. . . grief is so weird. One minute I’m fine, and then it hits me. Normal, I know.
2. Creating Sabbath Moments –> I thought about it, but I’m not sure I was successful.
Family:
1. Getting started with our days earlier. I want to be ready for the day when it needs to start. Some days yes and some days no. Still a goal.
2. Be a better girlfriend to my husband. My husband actually told me I was being a good girlfriend! Either he read my blog or I WAS!
3. Plan dates with my girls 1-1 (on the schedule – that is 4 dates each month or maybe on an 6 week schedule). –> MUST DO THIS!
Writing:
1. Finish “Truth for Moms” devotional. (Release date is August 2015 Harvest House Publishers) I have about 5 more devotions to write. Only 3 more to go!
2. Sketch out 2 book ideas on paper. I have one outlined and a start on chapter 1! Woot!
Personal:
1. Conquer my 90 day “Bikini Body Mommy” challenge and not die during burpees or mountain climbers. Today I did Day 53! Bam!
2. Finish 3 books currently on my Kindle Reader: (they are all fantastic, by the way)
- 5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Daughter* – Courtney
- The Secret Keeper* – Kate Morton
Gifts from the Sea* – LindberghFinished it!
So, not all bad! Actually, August was a crazy month, so I’m proud that I did see some progress on my goals!
[callout]September Goals[/callout]
- Finish August goals! (Especially getting those 1-1’s with my girls! And finish my reading and writing!)
- School reports are due and I need to spend at least an hour or two entering in our courses and such. I always procrastinate doing this.
- Love on my home a bit with a new gallery wall, curtains, and pillows.
- Finish reading The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst which I added to my reading pile in August!
- Do NOT add any more books to the reading pile.
- Celebrate my oldest! She turns 15 on the 30th!
That is all I’m adding! What are your top September goals?
xo,
Stacey
Hi Stacey,
I found you through The Tiny Twig linkup. Congrats on completing your exercise challenge. That’s awesome! I’m going to check out “5 conversations…” as my oldest is turning 15 in October. How are you liking it? Also, one of my August goals was to read The Secret Keeper. Kindle editions are tricky because you don’t realize how long they are! I think I’ll wrap it up in the next week or so, though.
Glad I found you!

Candace I really like “5 Conversations”. I need to finish it but it will be a great structure for some hard to have but don’t want to miss having talks with my girls!
And “The Secret Keeper” is good but I just can’t get back to it! Too tired to read at bedtime! 🙂 I’ll just take my time!
Nice to meet you!
I love your new blog! And, these are some fantastic goals. I set daily to-do lists, but I like the idea of monthly goals. Yes, grief is such an ongoing process. What I’ve found is that the pain/loss is always there, the intensity of it just changes over time. God is ever so gracious and His presence and peace are powerful. He walks with us through the valleys, and it’s often in those most painful grief-laden moments where I find He teaches me more about Himself and draws me closer to Him. I wouldn’t have chosen to grow that way, but I’m learning that grief can be a form of God’s grace.
Thank you Lauren! I so agree we would not choose this growth through grief but it is precious still.
