Can I tell you a secret? This week I took very few pictures and was not super wowed by what I wore. I have been feeling a bit bleh with myself image. I think it has do with my 40’s screaming at me. I’ve been working out hard since Summer and actually GAINED weight. Yeah. Nice. And if that is not enough I hurt my back and now have nerve pain in my leg. Which now makes working out painful. (maybe I should stop!) All that to say, I am not crazy about what I’m seeing in the mirror these days.
But…this is normal for ALL girls. Even my daughters who range in age from 5-15 struggle . We all feel it. I know that beauty is not only physical, it starts in the heart. I’m guessing you understand. So this week I’m sharing the only images I took for What I Wore. There is something about each one of these outfits I love and something I don’t love so much. My goal in telling you this is so you will know the whole story. I love writing these posts but many days I wish my legs were thinner, my face would stop breaking out 25 years post puberty, and I did not have dark circles under my eyes. I’m trying to move beyond what I don’t like and find something I do. In the process, I hope I show my girls you can be normal, love some of what you wear, and not get too distracted by what you don’t.
So, with all that, here is What I Wore:
Focusing on what I love about each outfit:
Left: I love the color red and it really pops here. I wore this to lead worship Sunday (honored!). Plus, hello the shoes are fun!
Cardigan (Nordstrom’s Rack), Top (Loft), Pants (Loft), Shoes (Kohls)
Center: The headband. Love it!
Shirt (American Eagle), Tank (Old Navy), Jeans (Lucky), Shoes (Target), Headband (Ornaments for Orphans)
Right: I bought new boots and I am so excited about them! On sale at Kohls!
Hoodie (Evystree), Jeans (lucky), Tank (Loft), Boots (Kohls)

So talk to me friends! What do you do when you are not feeling your best? How do you”Counsel your heart?” (Nancy Leigh DeMoss question which I love!)

Girlfriend, I’m with ya. I see the dark circles and big thighs and extra weight gain in MY pictures, but NOT YOURS! I see beauty. I see authenticity. I see the love of Jesus overflowing. That’s what I see in you.
I’ll be praying for God to heal your body, to give you strength, and to show you the time to fit in caring for your health. And I’ll email you something that’s been helping me get moving without guilt and just the right dose of motivation.
