After being gone for 3 weeks and living out of a suitcase, I am finally back home and trying to get into some sort of routine. While we were gone, I wore mostly t-shirts and shorts and did not count one single calorie. If I did, about 7,000 of those calories would have gone to Beau Jo’s Pizza. The.Best.Mountain Pies. Ever. So today’s post is a bit of shocker for me, really. I’m going to say this out loud, because as a girl, I don’t say it very often.
:: Friday night we went on a date to celebrate my husband’s birthday and I liked the way I looked. ::
I did not iron it.
I pulled my hair into a pony tail because I ran out of time to shower. (I may or may not have been writing blog posts.)
I had jeans on that are at least 4 years old.
I spent less than 10 minutes getting ready.
All true.
But the shirt {Ann Taylor Loft} is so fun. I can tuck it in, or wear it with a great belt.
And the jeans {Gap Essentials that are no longer being made – sadness!} are so comfortable.
I slipped on my favorite pair of sandals and off we went to see:
Midnight in Paris ( 3 stars for Paris, 2 stars for the movie)
and to eat the best bbq in the world.
End of story.

Question: So tell me, how often do you like the way you look?
Do you have a shirt or pair of jeans or a great dress that every time you put it on you just feel better?
Let’ chat in the comments…

P.S. Happy Birthday to my mom who is the best. She survived 7 days in Colorado with the 6 of us in a 2 bedroom apartment. She is a saint and deserves a big chocolate cake today. Oh, how I wish I was there to make it!

Love this, Stacey! You look great. I am very much of a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. I also have a couple simple, casual dresses that I like to wear that always make me feel like I put at least a little effort into looking nice. 😉
And I love your necklace! I have one too and wear it almost every day. Such a lovely reminder.
Hey Meagan! Hope you have had a great summer! And thank you so much for your sweet words!
You look great! And happy birthday to your mom. My fave go to outfit is also a white shirt with jeans. I don’t think I’ve ever ironed the shirt but I am gonna try tucking it in because I like the way it looks on you. As for having an “I feel good day”, yesterday was it. I just let my hair go and enjoyed it (no flat ironing, no curling, just let it be ~ so freeing).
Oh yeah for yesterday and good hair days! It really is the little things, right? 🙂 Happy Wednesday Daenel!
Does it tell you how hormonal I am that I cried when I read that you liked the way you looked? Happy tears, friend, because you are ALWAYS beautiful and I’m glad you’re realizing it! Love you and your cuteness lady!
You are so cute! I can’t wait to see that baby bump in October!! Thanks!
When my hubby compliments me on my looks, I always feel prettier the next time I have one of those items I was wearing at the time of the compliment on. Seriously.
Or when my 2-year-old, when I’m getting dressed, replies, “you so pretty, mommy”…even if it happens to be pajamas.
Ah, those men in my life. I’m a sucker for their compliments.
That necklace you have on…is beautimus.
And, for the record, I liked the way you looked, too. 🙂
Oh when they say it, it is the sweetest! Especially when you are in your pj’s!
The necklace is Lisa Leornard for @dayspring!
Have a great Wednesday!
Happy Birthday to your mom! I like your style. It’s chic but casual. That shirt is perfect and looks terrific the way you’ve worn it. Very cute!
Oh thank you – my mom is the best! So nice of you to stop by today!
You are beautiful!! I LOVE your top & it looks great un-ironed. It’s that thin/lightweight cotton that will wrinkle within the first 2 minutes anyway.
I simply adore the way you look for date night.
Love your necklace.
Oh my word you are awesome for saying that! It does have that wrinkled look anyway! Thanks – the necklace is Lisa Leonard for @dayspring. I love it too, because Grace is my Word for the year! Thanks for stopping by!
What’s an iron?
Mwahhhhh! Too, funny. We’ll be the wrinkled girls at Relevant. Maybe Katie will iron for us!?
This is a great look and it’s awesome that you felt good in it.
I know I can’t say that I truly like my look as often as I would like. 🙂
Thanks for being real and confident! You look fab, I’ve been eyeing a shirt like that for a while now.. Most days, that’s how life is to me: a 10 minute get ready session and while I don’t look like a lot of fashion bloggers in their designer stilettos, I do like the way I look (or at least my outfit).
Say yes to the white shirt! I was a bit worried to wear it with my little ones all around me, but it has been great! Thanks for your sweet words!
