Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
The Invitation #livingthankful

Where I Break, He Breaks Through
What if I told you the point was for you to come to the end of yourself today? I know. Stop. Breathe. Let it settle a bit. I've been in this place for a few days trying to work out these words: He says, "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 (ESV) But we fight...

What I Wore @allume
Last week I went to the Allume Blogging Conference in Greenville, SC. I had an amazing week. Greenville is the cutest town, but can I tell you in October it might just be 38 degrees. This is a problem for some Florida girls who think it is going to be closer to 65...
Little Is Much When God is In It : An (in)Mercy Challenge
The words of an old hymn grabbed my heart recently... Little is much when God is in it! Labor not for wealth or fame. There’s a crown—and you can win it, If you go in Jesus’ Name. "Little Is Much When God Is in It" by Kittie L. Sufflield 1924. As we were singing it at...

Are You New Around Here?
Hello friend. I'm so glad you are here. Would you sit awhile with me, and chat? Life gets crazy busy at my house. I've been running at the speed of mom lately and I realized we have not had the chance to just hang out recently. I know, you understand because your life...
Pin The Word {Romans 15:13}
Lately
I went to the beach last weekend for a lovely retreat with even lovelier women. I watched the sun show off two mornings in a row and I wondered if the moon was ever jealous. Glory. The sun comes up and my soul fills up. I've been thinking about being mom to four...
