Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
What I Wore
Hey it is What I Wore Day! I love to kick back, talk girl, and connect here! I'm so glad you all do, too! I have been enjoying the coolish temperatures here so I can layer! Layering is so much more interesting, don't you think? Here are a few things I wore this week!...
Know #LivingThankful
Last week I wrote a guest post for (in)courage. The comments on the post are still coming in and so many are sharing they are not OK with where they are. I understand. I have wept more than once reading their heart cries. I have prayed over hundreds of women since...
Meet me at (in)courage today
In early 2010 God gave me One Word for the year: Thankful He asked me to start making a list of all the things I was thankful for in my life. The only trouble was, I didn't feel thankful. Being thankful is the easiest and the hardest thing to do when you are not OK....
What I Wore
This is going to be a super quick post because apparently a cold front is moving into my Central Florida town and I feel like I should go find socks for my sock challenged children. And by cold front I mean it is going to dip into the 50's tonight. And by sock...

The Invitation #livingthankful
Living Thankful is an invitation. "Raise your voice: make a beautiful noise to the Eternal, all the earth." Psalm 100:1 We are to be vocal. To shout. Get on our feet. Applaud. Joy -- is not quiet! The invitation is for everyone... You. Me. The girl at Starbucks. All...
Where I Break, He Breaks Through
What if I told you the point was for you to come to the end of yourself today? I know. Stop. Breathe. Let it settle a bit. I've been in this place for a few days trying to work out these words: He says, "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 (ESV) But we fight...
Living Thankful

Allume is the conference that leaves the light on for you to go home to your people and fulfill your calling. - Ann Voskamp The day before I left for my fourth Allume blogging conference, my daughter Abby said, "Mom, why do you go to Allume?" Well, sweet girl, this...
What I Wore @allume
Last week I went to the Allume Blogging Conference in Greenville, SC. I had an amazing week. Greenville is the cutest town, but can I tell you in October it might just be 38 degrees. This is a problem for some Florida girls who think it is going to be closer to 65...
