Last week I wrote a guest post for (in)courage. The comments on the post are still coming in and so many are sharing they are not OK with where they are. I understand. I have wept more than once reading their heart cries. I have prayed over hundreds of women since Thursday. I have felt the desperation in their words. Living Thankful in the midst of real life can be the hardest thing to do because what we need is not so much a gratitude list to write.  We need the One we write our gratitude list for, to write on our hearts and transform us.

As I was reading, I thought of Jonah. He was a man not OK with where he was and the calling on his life. He tried to run far away from God. But ended up running right into Him.

“While he admitted he was not OK, Jonah also did something else very important. He remembered all that was right about God.
He hears our prayers from the belly of fish or from our bathroom floors.
He is holy.
He is true.
He is our salvation.
He met Jonah in his place of disappointment and discontent and rescued him.” Being OK With Where You Are chapter 1.

Psalm 100 reminds of this truth as well. We can know….

He is the true God.

We are  not self made anythings.

We are His sheep. His girls. His—period.

He is the Eternal One.

Our rescue.

Somewhere in the knowing and the remembering who He is, where we are becomes a healing place. (click to tweet)

P.S. How are you #livingthankful and remembering who He is?
