Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
What I Wore
This week it happened. I am the mother of a fourteen year old. Which means, it is getting harder to hide my age. She is super sweet and this week I took her to the make-up counter for the first time. We met the sweetest lady named Sandy who set her up nicely with a...
5 Things I Learned in September
1. Releasing a book is sort of kind of like having a baby. I am not the first person to say this, but this is the first time I have released a solo book project and it is the first time I have felt this way. So, I'm going to say it like I'm the only person who has...

I keep seeing all the fall fashions and thinking how nice it must be to have boots with boot socks and sweaters wrapped around your shoulders while you sip Salted Carmel Mochas and enjoy football games. It is 82 degrees and raining here. So, I'll just share my...

Over at "The Better Mom" Today!
I've been trying to come up with one sentence to describe my new book and I think I finally have it: This came to me while I was folding clothes today. Or was it while I was driving my ballerinas to class? I don't know. Such is the glamorous life of a writer/mom....

Today is your day. Your story of Being OK With Where You Are has begun. I want to hear your heart and how God is meeting you. But first, meet Kaitlyn. I'm pretty sure she is young enough to be my daughter, and very sure she is a kindred spirit. I asked her to share...
