Everything started here

I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.

It was through learning to write and create content there  (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the  rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.

Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are  bookish by nature.

But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.

And I suspect I always will.

My heart can't take it. I think you must feel the same way. I've read your posts on Facebook. I've seen the tweets. I know we are all wondering around in a fog today and asking, "What can I do?" See, as moms we want to do something. We want to make everything better....

Hope for the New Year :: Book Club

"I am a weary mama of five. I was at my wits end, crying out to God for some kind of relief. Some kind of hope. Then, I stumbled upon this book on a mama blog that I follow. COMPLETE answer to prayer. This book reminded me that I am not alone. That God is there,...

Where Joy Shines Best.

I might have known when I picked my word for the holiday season that I'd have a chance to to dig deep and find the true meaning of the word. I should have expected the opportunity to put on my God sized glasses and look intently for it among the twinkling lights and...

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday friends! I know the first day back to life after vacation can be tough. Go ahead and have an extra cup of coffee. It will help, I promise. It may also help to wear a pair of red shoes. Wear them even if you are doing dishes and chasing babies all day...
