Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
Threadbare Prayer: Dueteronomy 32:10
Deuteronomy 32:10 " He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye." LORD, This certainly feels like a howling waste of the wilderness. It feels like I'm drowning on...
Coaching Summer Style: Workshops with YOU in Mind
I love summer. It is a time where our family schedule relaxes a little and I have more time to write. I like the fact that we can sleep a little later, read a little more, and grab more time doing the things we WANT to do, rather than the things we feel like we...
Threadbare Prayer: Nahum 1:7
Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. LORD, I will take refuge in you today. I am: Known. Invited. Strengthened. Held. You are: The existing one — Jehovah - You are good and kind. (I declare it even...
A Call to Abide
My word for 2019 is Abide. But my battle has been with fear. Recently, I was asked to speak at a women's night of worship at my church and I said this aloud for the first time. (Guess what that felt like?) I don't want my battle t to be with fear. But being honest...

Threadbare Prayer: 2 Chronicles 20:12
2 Chronicles 20:12 "...For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you." LORD, My circumstances are not what I want them to be. There are situations outside my control. Right now it feels as...
Threadbare Prayer: 1 Peter 5:7
"Since God cares for you, let Him carry all your burdens and worries.” 1 Peter 5:7, The Voice Letting you carry some of my burdens and a few of my worries is ok. But all Lord? They are many. They are heavy. And they are slowly draining the threadbare life right out...

Threadbare Prayer: Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd - I lack nothing. Psalm 23:1, NIV I have went around and around with this verse. I have fallen on it so many times. I have wept over it. I have breathed prayers of desperation and poured out my need in my most threadbare moments. And not once...
