Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
What I Wore Wednesday
Recently I read that my hometown was voted by a travel website as the Worst Dressed City in North America. The reasons they gave for this award were: the prevalence of soccer moms with bad haircuts,jean shorts and Gap T-shirts fathers with big bellies showing in...
Grace for the Good Girl {Part 3}
When I was little, my big brother and I would play hide and seek with our neighbors every summer evening. Base was always their front porch. They had 100 places to hide in their yard because they had massive pine trees that lined their property. I remember the...
In Real Life
This is Katie and me Saturday in real life. I love this picture. The image was taken on a camera phone, so it is not the best. And in our defense it was 750 degrees outside. We were melting. Still, I love this picture. I met Katie on Twitter while we were...
Fall Wreath :: My {un} Tutorial
Last Saturday, I felt the need to be creative and I whipped up a fall wreath for my front door. One thing you need to know about me, is that I am not a crafty girl. In fact, whenever I am with other women who are crafty girls, I have craft envy. So with that in...

Really? This makes people do crazy things? Source: target.com Pinterest I want to understand the mad love for this, but I don't. I don't understand the mile long lines, the people stampede, and all the fuss. I mean it is colorful, but is it worth crazy? Another...
Grace for the Good Girl {Part 2}

Dear Fall…
I'm pretending you are here, with your cozy sweaters, Friday night football games, and thermos bottles full of hot chocolate. I miss you most of all. If I close my eyes real tight I can imagine the drive down 46, from Bloomington to Brown County. The leaves are just...
For Sara….
Thank you. I have been blessed. No moment from God is a rock of burden, it's just a rock waiting to be broken apart into stepping stones. Sara aka Gitzen girl
