Everything started here

I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.

It was through learning to write and create content there  (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the  rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.

Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are  bookish by nature.

But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.

And I suspect I always will.

Pray With Me This Christmas!

There is something about October that pulls my heart back to simple prayers. I suppose it might be because my wandering heart has been tuned to this song of lament over and over again. A few years ago I started writing Threadbare Prayers on my blog during a wilderness...

Grace Notes :: We find grace sitting there

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16 She runs for her life, and for the lives of those  she loves.  Running past the outer courts she throws open the large...

The Best Of {Comments}

One of my goals with this blog is for it to be a place where you feel at home. I love the idea of us hanging out on the porch in the rocking chairs, chatting it up!  Wouldn't that be great? The best place for this type of interaction to happen is through your sweet...
