Are you familiar with Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young? It is one of my favorite devotionals. It is written like Jesus is talking directly to you. I have been so encouraged by this amazing book. Well, Tommy Nelson has just published this book for children:
Jesus Calling Kids is written in the same conversational style as the adult version, but in language your 8-12 year olds will understand. And here is the best part! It coordinates with the adult version. Same day. Same topic. Same Scriptures. So, when I read my Jesus Calling during Chair Time and my 11 year old is reading her devotions, we can discuss it together! How cool is that?
Are you ready for a challenge? Tommy Nelson is offering you a free 2 week download of both the adult version and the new children’s version of Jesus Calling. You can download both by clicking here and visiting the Tommy Nelson blog. Take the next 14 days and find 15 minutes each day to have family devotions. For the next 2 Tuesdays, I will be posting about what God is teaching my family and the cute and amazing things my kids say. You can join me in the comments to let everyone know how it is going at your house as well! Tommy Nelson is also hosting a blog carnival during the week of 11/15 – 11/19 where you can link up your own blog post about the challenge! On Tuesday, November 23 I will have a chance for you to win a copy of both these books from Tommy Nelson! (hint :: Christmas is coming) What do you think? Are you with me? So, to summarize:
- Pray (always the most important step)
- Download your free 2 week copy of Jesus Calling and Jesus Calling Kids, here.
- Let me know you are joining me so I can pray for you!

I absolutely love these two books. They are so wonderful, in so many ways! So glad to have found them through Relevant. Glad you’re spreading the word for others to find them too! I’ll try to make it back to let you know how my boys like them, too.
I’d love that Michelle! Thanks for stopping by today!
How fun! I’m in!
Oh yeah Penny! I’ll look forward to hearing what God is teaching you!
Hi Stacey,
Is it too late to be a part of this? I just found you today through Twitter and would love to do this with my family. When I click on the link in the post though I can’t seem to find where the free download is located? I’m excited about these books and can’t wait to check them out.
Happy Sunday!

Hi Becky! It is not too late to join the Family Devo Challenge! I will check on this link, it looks to be re-routing for some reason. Let me find out and I will get back to you. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi Stacey,
Thanks so much for posting this. I received the original Jesus calling Devotional a few years ago at a ladies conference and it has been such a treasure to read. I am currently reading it and God has used it in my life so many times I can’t even count. I would love for my girls to be able to use one for their quiet time as well. I will download the two week preview asap! I can’t wait to share it with my girls.
