I learned something new about myself, recently. I’m {almost} 40 and I just realized it:
I am a visual person.
{don’t you love this picture?}
- If I can see it, I can learn it.
- If I doodle while listening to a sermon or lecture, I remember what is said better.
- If you use words, like Emily to create beautiful word pictures, I will stalk your blog and comment on nearly every post.
- I will subscribe to blogs I love – so I won’t miss content, but I’d rather hang out on your site if you are Jones Design, The Beach Cottage, The Nester or Lisa Leonard. I enjoy the experience of the blog itself.
- I am newly addicted to a site called Pintrest. Do you pin? (send me your email and I’ll invite you if not)
- I started out bookmarking on Delicious, but quickly got bored. Not.Visually.Interesting. So now, I’m using Tumblr as my on-the-go notebook and Pintrest for anything visual.
- Seeing what I’m wearing each week has been eye opening. Thanks Linsdey!
Honestly, this has been life changing! What have you learned about yourself recently?
I just heard about pintrest on another blog! Now I really need to check it out!
Just invited you to my addiction! 🙂
Hahaha! I am sooo visual too! I have all my fave blogs {including yours!} on google reader, but I’d much rather see the actual blogs ’cause they’re great eyecandy. When I first saw Pintrest {thanks!} I showed my hubby and he smiled that knowing smile which means “Oh no. Here’s another huge distraction. I’ll never see my wife again.” 😉 But really, I need color and vibrancy or I’m lost. BTW, thanks for introducing me to tumblr…*my* latest addiction!
I went over to Emily’s blog and can see what your talking about. I don’t know about pin. I have a granddaughter like you that has to doodle or be doing something to learn or to listen. It used to drive me nuts and then I finally believed her.
It really helps to accept our different learning styles.
LOVE pintrest too! All the great bookmarks but no visuals got lost in the shuffle. It is a great way to see all the projects that inspired me and beckon to be tried!
So true Melissa! I love it!
Yeah, that visual person thing – I’ve known that one for years about myself! I literally had pictures of the pages in my textbooks when I’d take tests at school!
And I LOVE Pinterest!
And oh my word Kelly your visual space is so lovely! One of my favorite bloggy diggs! I am following you on Pinterest!
Stacey,
I’m a visual person too …. but I am terrible at taking pictures. Having said that I know nothing about Pinterest but would like to know more.
I’ll email you an invitation! You will love it. It is Pin·terest (pĭn’trĭst): n. a social catalog to collect and share things you love.” It is like a digital bulletin board! (and you get to peak at other peoples boards too!
