MercyHouseFamily

The words of an old hymn grabbed my heart recently…

Little is much when God is in it!
Labor not for wealth or fame.
There’s a crown—and you can win it,
If you go in Jesus’ Name. “Little Is Much When God Is in It” by Kittie L. Sufflield 1924.

As we were singing it at church one Sunday I thought of a house in Kenya where 12 babies and their mamas live. It was started by another mom who lives in Texas. Her name is Kristen Welch and she also happens to be a writer and blogger at We Are That Family.
Kristen saw a need for a home for pregnant women in Kenya.

She felt their pain.

Kristen did what Jesus would have done.

She brought little.

God did much.

This home in Kenya has been a beautiful testimony “Little is Much When God is in it” to me .  These mamas are all God’s daughters. They walked out of a life filled with struggle and fear straight into the arms of Jesus at house called Mercy.  Kristen didn’t have many connections or a bunch of money when she said yes. She had little. God did much. Each time I see these beautiful women and their children my heart grows ten times bigger. I love being part of what God is doing there.

Today, we have a chance to bring our little and watch God do much, too.

Phase4-ComputerLab-AdvanceMercy

Right now I’m at Allume, a conference for bloggers and writers. (in)courage is also there and speaking tonight at a dinner with Kristen Welch of Mercy House Kenya. Our goal as an online community was to finish raising the money for a new computer lab for the women at Mercy House. But, here is the amazing thing. That project has already been funded!

This makes my heart want to sing all the more because we have not asked for money for this part of (in)Mercy. But women everywhere are seeing, feeling, and doing what little they can in Jesus name. It is glorious.

So, what now? Well, we get to be part of a bigger plan:

We get to build a second home.

I can tell you, God is in it.

Let’s, bring our little. And watch Him do much.

Thanks so much for being who you are. For loving Jesus and being His hands and feet.
