“I created you to glorify Me. This means you can never spend too much time praising and thanking Me. Praising Me says you know that I am God and you trust My control over your life. Thanking Me opens your heart to receive My Presence and My Peace –the richest, most awesome gift of all.”
Jesus Calling Kids, Page 340
This week I have had the chance to share some amazing truths with my girls as we have read through Jesus Calling Kids together. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Jesus is your navigator.
- Walking with God in the now, protects you from worrying about the future.
- Hearing His voice is so important – you must spend time with Him to know it!
- The best gifts are His peace and His presence.
- Being thankful helps you find Joy in Him.
I can’t think of a better message to share with my girls. He is calling them to draw near to Him every day, so He can speak His Words of Truth into their hearts. Each of the above messages are straight from Scripture and Sarah gives 3-4 passages to look up to support the daily reading. And, as I mentioned earlier, this devotion coordinates with the adult version. So as you are reading and praying for your kids, they will be reading the same truths. I love that!
I also love that I get a chance to share these awesome devotionals with you! Tommy Nelson is giving a copy of both to one lucky person. Here is your chance to win. Leave a comment telling me why you want to win, who you would give these books to, and if you have any of Sarah Young’s books. Please, only those living in the continental USA may enter. **In cooperating with full disclosure, please know that I received a copy of both of these devotionals from Tommy Nelson for the purpose of review.
I would love to win these devotionals. It’s so important to walk closely with the Lord and meditate on His word. I would keep the adult version and share the kids version with my 10 year old daughter!
Yay for valuable giveaways! I would definitely use the child version for my 8 y.o. daughter…and my almost 2 y.o. (who would be present, but maybe running around in circles as we do this :)). The adult version would be something I would probably give to a young adult that I am mentoring.
Love to have new ways to share Jesus with the kids. Thanks!
I loved the sample and would love a copy for myself and my girls!!!!
I liked Tommy Nelson on Facebook!
I don’t have any of Sarah’s books. I’ve only heard about this book a couple times on blogs. I really like the personal feel of it – Jesus calling me, calling you, calling my daughter. I’d love to find something age-appropriate for my daughter, to add to her daily Bible readings – to encourage her to see and understand that the Scriptures are actually God’s love letter to her! And, to tell you the truth, I often enjoy reading children’s devotionals not only for my children, but for the way they simplify and clarify things for my muddled mind and heart.
