If only you could have seen me yesterday. I was running between two dressing rooms at Old Navy helping two of my girls try on summer clothes. We must have tried on 700 pairs of shorts (finally finding some long enough) and 200 tank tops —the ultimate layering essential for summertime. The truth is you might have seen me yesterday because it being Memorial Day there were masses of people in Old Navy. I guess few people go to parades or cook outs on this holiday anymore. Of course, I was also there, but it was a one time chance for me to take my two oldest girls out while my husband watched the littles at home. I did grill out later with the family.
It was fun. But it was also a ton of work. I wish I was a fashion designer because I think I could make a fortune on trendy acceptable clothes for growing up girls. Seriously. This is hard work for moms of girls. I’m pretty sure moms of boys have it a bit easier in this department.
Here is what I wore last week!
Left: T-shirt (Loft), Skirt (Loft), Shoes (Target), Necklace (Dayspring)
I wore this for a meeting at church.
Left Center: Shirt (Kohls), Shorts (Loft), Shoes (Target)
This was a typical mommy day.
Right Center: Shirt Dress (Target), Pants (Kohls), Shoes (Target)
Church Sunday. I sing in our choir and last week being a remembrance Sunday our choir wore all black.
Right: T-Shirt (Loft), Maxi Skirt (Kohls)
Memorial Day. Shopping with the girls.

I had to laugh when I saw the pictures because of my hair. So I think the alternative title for this post should be, “Can you tell I got a haircut?” Too funny, right?

P.S. Any fun fashion finds lately? Love to hear what you are wearing too!

Love the maxi! Lots of nice choices here. I found you through Pleated Poppy. Stop by sometime if you get a chance. Have a great day!
I am short and even I have a hard time finding shorts long enough some places!

Seriously….the shorts situation is frustrating. Yes, I want a cute pair of shorts. No, I don’t want my butt to hang out of them. I shopped around Saturday afternoon and I almost took a pic to document my disappointment.
I have had good luck at Loft for me personally. I don’t know if my girls want to shop at their mom’s favorite store, but they have 6 inch shorts and 4 inch shorts. I prefer the 6 inch length shorts.
Shopping for tall, skinny boys is hard. I promise! Because you can get jeans in slim sizes, but not shorts. And no two brands have the same sizing. My 10 year old wears 10 slim jeans, but 8 shorts were a) falling off and b) too short. We finally found some online at gap that come in slim sizes and you should have seen me happy dancing around the room!
At least tops are easy…it’s do you like it? Great, we’ll get it.
For me, I got a totally adorable sailboat printed shirt from Target this week! It’s completely different from my usual wardrobe, but I love it!
I TAKE IT ALL BACK. I just spent 45 minutes looking for an outfit for my 1 year old niece. Granted, the problem was that all the clothes in the store were summer (TEXAS summer) and she’s moving to Alaska in two weeks, but still. It made me glad I have boys!
You are so cute! Love your style!
