Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.

Making Scripture Visible In Your Home
Over the years, this by far has been one of my most viewed blog posts. It dates back to 2010. I have updated it with a link to a set of Free Scripture Cards inspired by my new book, Being OK With Where You Are. Last month I posted this to do list: Since so many of you...
MODsquad = Mother of Daughters
20. 17. 14. 10. These numbers might not mean much to you, but they have a profound impact on how I am living today. They also are one of the major reasons I am so excited about this new adventure called the MODsquad. You see, I am a mother of girls. Four of them. We...

A Sweet Treat
Today I have the sweetest treat to be a guest barista at Internet Cafe Devotions. Awhile back, I took a step of faith and sent them a rework of a post I wrote here called I Need Thee Every Hour. To my surprise, they sweetly accepted and chose today to post it. You can...
Social Graces
In his newly published Bringing Up Girls, Dr. James Dobson writes:A girl who has been trained properly is never completely knocked off balance when she is in an unfamiliar circumstance. She knows what is expected of her and how to deal with it. Her sense of self worth...
Words To Live By
"Almost any of us can be heroic, even daring in the midst of great excitement. But it takes a much more steadfast faith in our Father to stay true in the quiet place where He puts us. It is in the daily duties of our little lives where God asks us to be loyal, steady...
Chair Time
I was honored this past weekend to guest post for my friend Megan at The Tuckers Take Tennessee. After praying about what I could share, I felt led to continue my story and write about the legacy I want to leave my children. I hope you will join me there, and read...
