Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
What Are You Reading?
(post contains affiliate links) I have a passion for words. As I've written tens of thousands of them in the past two years to put in books, I've noticed my love of reading has only increased. What has surprised me though, is that lately I have been on a fiction...
Fear(less) Girl.
(This post actually made its way into the book Is Jesus Worth It? chapter 2. Clearly, I needed to keep writing my way through it.) *** Fear has been bossing me around lately. The truth is, I’ve willingly let it happen. I’ve crouched under covers and cried hot tears. I...
A Good, Good Friday
When I first heard the song, "Good, Good Father" by Chris Tomlin I could not sing it. The words would form in my mouth but they would not come out. Maybe these Fresh Out of Amazing words will explain why: My family asked me to sing at Daddy’s funeral, and I couldn’t....
What are You Still Holding On To?
I'm feeling a bit battered and bruised these days. There are many reasons, but when it comes down to it, I'm holding on to a few things I need to let go of. I am holding on to: fear weariness good works approval Maybe you are too. I was reading today in the...
What I Wore
Happy Wednesday! Happy March. Spring is coming friends! I can feel it in the air. We had one more blast of cool air this week, but I do believe a new pair of sandals are in order to replace my fave boots that died a sad death last month! Happier thoughts...happier...
Someone Who Inspires Me

Just Click Away
So today, being is Leap Day. One "extra day" to do whatever we do for the glory of the Lord. What will you do with your day? (cute magnets available @dayspring) I've been thinking about an interview I saw with Mary Tyler Moore and her cast of friends. What was said of...
Making Peace When You Just Can’t Fix It
Last week started with me dropping a dozen eggs on the cold tile floor of my kitchen. The rest of the week pretty much followed suit. And if I'm being entirely honest, I felt just as broken. I had planned on this being a tough week. My daughter was scheduled for a...
What I Wore
Hey Wednesday friend! How are you? I am running about a day late...so this will be short and sweet! New around here? What I Wore was started by the adorable Lindsay at The Pleated Poppy. It is a daily challenge to get up and get dressed with a little thought and...
What I Wore
Hey there Wednesday friends. It is almost 8AM and I'm already running behind. Plus it is raining. I think that means extra coffee today, don't you? Here is what I wore this week! Left: Top (Target), Jeans (American Eagle), Shoes (Khols) I love this top from Target. I...
