What you believe about God is the most important thing about you. – Tozer

As my prayer list grows to include things that are so much bigger than me, I am reminded that it is tough to be a grown up. I watch my kids move about their carefree lives and I am longing for a day of splashing in the pool and fort building myself. So last Saturday I sat with my Bible and took a good look at one verse that captured my heart. I found it in Deuteronomy 32:4.

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. (New International Version)

I fell in love with this verse and researched it. Here are 11 things I found:

He is the rock – a foundation to be built on.
He is Immovable
He is a shelter for us
His works are perfect – nothing God does can be mended.
His works are complete – if He begins He will finish.
All His ways are just -right and propper
He is faithful and worthy of our trust
He is the One true God, Jehovah “El”
He does no wrong
He has never cheated anyone who has trusted Him
His justice was never so hard on those who cast themselves on His Mercy.
Upright – He will not wrong any by punishing more than they deserve or fail to recompense all those that serve Him and suffer for Him

And that is just one verse and 15 minutes of digging. Oh the treasures we can find when we take the time to look! What have you found recently in God’s Word that has captured your heart?

**I have also been reading A.W. Tozer’s Knowledge of the Holy. It is a fantastic book that lifts my heart and fixes my eyes on Jesus.
**When I study a passage, I love to use Blue Letter Bible. It is an online resource that you can use to look up the Greek Definitions for words, cross references for verses, as well as read commentaries. I also happen to love to read Matthew Henry’s commentary which can be found here as well.
***My above research is heavily influenced by these two great resources!
