Having a Mission Statement is like having the best version of yourself beside you on your worst days, encouraging you to press on and pointing to the goal.

Kat from Inspired to Action

So much of what I write here is about keeping me on track and accountable.  For example, each Monday I am counting with gratitude the gifts God has given me.    By doing this simple thing, I have been on a journey right to the heart of God.  It is not that I haven’t been grateful in the past, but now I am also being purposeful to notice, record, and proclaim it.  Each Monday, you also have come to expect it as well.  That is where the accountable part comes into play. Now, it would not be the end of the world if you stopped by next Monday and my gratitude list was not posted, but you would certainly notice it was missing. There is an expectation on your part of it being there.  It helps keep me accountable and motivated just knowing you  look for it each week!

With the same motivation, I am sharing with you my newly crafted mission statement. My hope is that it will move me forward, keep me from saying yes to the wrong next good thing that comes along, and let me say yes to the best God has for me!  So, here it is:

I will pursue God daily by letting His Word dwell richly in my heart, surrender to His will, and sing with thankfulness as I count daily His gifts.

I will love Mike with love from Christ and be his helper so he can be all that God desires him to be.

I will be a worthy example for my girls to follow, be their biggest cheerleader, train them with purpose and love them like crazy.

I will point others to Christ through encouraging words, gracious actions, and when given the chance Biblical teaching.

I think I will probably need to tweak it a bit here and there, but I love having it in written form so I can see it each day.  I am going to keep it with my quiet time materials and read it every day until I know it by heart!

Now it is your turn!  Do you have a mission statement?  I would love to hear it or part of it!  Just leave a comment below!  Also, be sure to check out Kat @inspired2action so you can follow her easy to use plan and make a mission statement for yourself if you don’t have one already!
