For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. – Jesus, Matthew 11:30
Light.
Easy.
Joy.
Wanna trade?
I’m trading my sorrows.
I’m trading my shame.
I’m laying them down, for the glory of the Lord.
words and music by Darrell Evans, as performed by Women of Faith
Love it. That is what I am doing now, trading my burden for His yoke. It’s so much better!!! 🙂 Thanks for this friend. 🙂
It is the best trade ever! Yes – His is so much better!
I’m here … right now. Trading the burdens of this life, these momentary, fleeting burdens, for the joy of the Lord.
Sometimes I forget how positively powerful worship music can be, somtimes it is just more noise as I am trying to get our 4 kiddos up and about for the day. But this morning I turned on this song after I read your post, Stacey, and was greatly surprised how quickly shoes went on feet and backpacks were found and put on backs and even smiles were on their faces as they climbed the bus steps. Thank you, God for even in our everyday tasks, You help ease our burdens and lighten our loads when we turn our focus back on You.
I love it Cami! My college roomie Robin and I would have “Psych Up Songs”. She would sit in her room, and I in mine, and we’d go back and forth with songs to get us “Psyched Up” for studying or whatever.
This is a perfect Psych up song for almost the half way point of our 31 days!
Hope you sing it all day long!
A good trade, for sure! We need to believe him about the easy yoke. He was telling the truth–and He knows what He’s talking about!
Love that Richella – He was telling the truth and we need to believe Him!
