Everything started here

I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.

It was through learning to write and create content there  (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the  rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.

Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are  bookish by nature.

But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.

And I suspect I always will.

What I Wore : A Few Favorites for Summer

So I know I was MIA last week with What I Wore, but I have good reason. I was here... And mostly I was wearing what I'm sure was a mom bathing suit. But,I won't show you any of those pictures for obvious reasons. We had a lovely time. I could stare at this scene for...

When Weary Lays Me Low

Weary lays me low. Do you know what I mean? Do you feel pushed down, beat up, down for the last count? Lately, I feel this lowness on a daily basis. The problem for me is lingering in the weariness and letting it take me to other places where fear, defeat, and anger...

On Risk and Storms

Holley  asked us this week... What is the biggest risk when dreaming God sized dreams?  My thoughts have been racing and I keep thinking of Oklahoma and storms. I'm trying to fit it all together.  Sometimes you can't. But sometimes God leans in close and whispers...

One of my most favorite things of all is a Girls Weekend away. Last weekend, 8 of my friends gathered from all over the country to spend our 21st weekend together in 21 years. Though we'd like to say we started these weekends when we were twelve, the reality is they...
