Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
Dear Weary Mom
You can find the original Dear Weary Mom letter I wrote right here. It is the first page really of a long letter. This is the second page. My friends over at the new Hope for the Weary Mom blog, decided to turn this into a weekly series and ask all the moms to write...
What I Wore
What I Wore Wednesday is: Get up. Get dressed. Remember to snap a photo. Share it on Wednesday. Fun friends stop by and you chat about it. And I kinda love it! Friday I sent out a Instagram and asked what I should wear for my travel day to my annual IU girls weekend....
Hope and Dreams
Yesterday was my 42nd birthday. I got up, drank coffee, read my Bible, and ate oatmeal. When my girls woke up I made them breakfast. Sometime early, I read this on our Hope for the Weary Mom Facebook Page: I was a bit overwhelmed. In the middle of my very ordinary I'm...
"Hey Mom, I'm Bored…"
Summer is coming. You can guarantee after the celebration from school being on break for a few days wears off, your kids will say this over and over: "Hey Mom, I'm bored..." At the Thacker house, when someone says "I'm bored," I take this as a cue to give them a...
What I Wore
Welcome to Wednesday! You made it. I made it. This feels strangely like a huge accomplishment for me this week. What is it with the month of May? It feels like the end of a marathon and I'm just limping across the finish line. So this week, I'm carb loading or rather...
Lately
Remnants of a party are still on my dining room table. One of us turned seven because for some reason I can't get time to stand still. Yesterday I listened as she sang songs and talked in her oh so grown up voice. Seven isn't really very old, but it is. I'm mad at...
What I Wore: Stitch Fix #2
A girl just wants to be known and appreciated, right? Well, Stitch Fix, nailed it with Fix #2! Woot! The hardest part was I received my box late Monday and had to wait till late Tuesday to try it out. Honestly, I almost loved it all. The best part? Because of their...

"God is constantly finding new ways to bless His daughters." Lisa-Jo Baker, Community Manager of (in)courage This weekend I attended a conference with thousands of women from all over the world. I laughed. I cried. I learned so much from the stories of women just like...
What I Wore
Happy Wednesday friends! I hope you are having a great week. I have ten places to be today and have not figured out YET how to do it all. Maybe, just maybe I can't? (smile) Of course I can't. But this super short and sweet post is one way to cut corners today! Left:...
