Everything started here

I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.

It was through learning to write and create content there  (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the  rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.

Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are  bookish by nature.

But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.

And I suspect I always will.

Behind the Scenes: Let’s Talk About My New Bible Study

When Hope Hangs out Around a Table

When the Ebook first came out a mom said to me, "Wow, you were so honest." I panicked and thought, "Well, there is no turning back now!" It is true, the veil is off. This is me. But you know what I have discovered? God does a beautiful grace filled work when I get...

How to Have the Best Year Yet

There is a "me" that emerges in relationship to writing, like the "me" that emerges in certain friendships, who make me laugh. The Right to Write, Julie Cameron : : : As we look a new year square in the face with all its hopes, dreams, and possibilities, let me ask...

Oh Holy Night…

Where Grace Leads

Last January I began a journey to walk purposefully in grace for an entire year. As 2011 draws to a close, I hardly know how to wrap up my thoughts on the matter. It isn't because I don't have any, because I do.  My head and heart are swimming with more than I can...

Start Where You Are

Wherever you are is always the right place.  There is never a need to fix anything, to hitch up the bootstraps of the soul and start at some higher place.  Start right where you are. Julie Cameron, The Right to Write, page 5 What happens when you start right where you...

What I Wore Wednesday Flashback

As we draw to a close this month of an entire year of What I Wore Wednesday, I thought it might be fun to share with you a few of my faves in the series.  Ok - so the truth is I did not really get any pictures taken this week. But, flashbacks are fun, right? July:...
