My heart longs to be able to help you figure out how to do 36 hours of work in 24. I want to tell you not to worry about the bully in your son’s 3rd grade class, but I know you will anyway. And I’m sorry, I haven’t figured out how to tell time to stand still for few moments so you can freeze the picture of your daughter dancing with her daddy. Nope, I got nothing there.
I wish I had a magic formula to coax your baby to sleep through the night. While I’m wishing for miracles, I’d love to know how to get your kids and mine to eat their vegetables without a fight. I also have more questions than solutions about why some kids play the prodigal and some kids don’t. This one in particular breaks me into pieces.
The truth is, I’m a mama just like you and I have questions, too. Most days I hold on to hope with both hands, like a prize fighter going down for the last count, and I cry out to Jesus for grace to make it 5 more minutes. The older I get the more I need Him. That is the honest truth.
Here is what I know for sure:
God is for us in the most amazing way. We need Him. We need His word to tell in black and white like this:
[callout] So what should we say about all of this? If God is on our side, then tell me: whom should we fear? Romans 8:31, The Voice[/callout]
Does it make a difference to me to know that as I walk through my day God is on my side? You bet. He is on my side while I am making coffee and grabbing time to sit with him in the morning. He is on my side when my kids wake up cranky. He is on my side when my husband travels for weeks at a time and I am worn thin. He is on my side when I am praying for my girls. In fact, he is praying, too.
I like the way Matthew Henry says it: “…all his attributes for us, his promises for us. All that he is, and has, and does, is for his people.”.
Can you remember this today?
God is for you.
Can you tell another mom?
God is for you.
Because he is. All of him. You have nothing to fear.
xo,
Stacey

Can’t wait for all the goodness this weekend will have in store…so blessed by your message of hope!
How awesome would this be!!!!
Love. Thank you for encouraging all of us weary moms, Stacey. You are a blessing, girl!
My mom is the mom who inspires me. I wanna be like her. She never complain in anything she has done. She never give up and always wants the best for her daughters. Yes, she is a mom of daughters, too, just like me now. I am so thankful for my mom!
Stacey, that is so funny we picked the same verse. It such a good one for us mommas!
A mother I am most inspired by is probably my sister. She is patient beyond belief and has a heart for the unloved. She adopted my nephew from the Ukraine, a downs boy. Four years old and he couldn’t walk or talk. But now 1 year later, he is learning both! And she is adopting another downs boy now! Finalized in a few weeks! Amazing!!
