Everything started here

I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.

It was through learning to write and create content there  (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the  rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.

Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are  bookish by nature.

But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.

And I suspect I always will.

Behind the Scenes: Let’s Talk About My New Bible Study

I've been a Bible Study Girl since my freshman year at Indiana University. I was walking back from class praying that God would help me find a group of Jesus loving students,  when I saw a sign in an elevator in my dorm about a women's Bible study. I immediately went...

God is For You

My heart longs to be able to help you figure out how to do 36 hours of work in 24. I want to tell you not to worry about the bully in your son's 3rd grade class, but I know you will anyway. And I'm sorry, I haven't figured out how to tell time to stand still for few...

What I Wore

Happy Wednesday! You made it to the middle of the week! I guess I did too! Hurray!  Today is the day we grab our coffee and talk about the stuff of life—like what cardigan I wore more than once or how I spilled coffee on myself on the way to drop off my kids this...

Got Mommy Guilt?

Mommy guilt can cause weariness a nap won’t fix.  It weighs us down and wears us out.  It turns perfectly normal moms into women who are convinced they could win the prize for Worst Mom of the Year. I know. Recently I failed epically. . . (To keep reading join...

True Hope Does Not Disappoint

Welcome Friends! I'm so glad you are here! Today I have the honor to be a guest writer for Proverbs 31 Daily Devotionals. I'm sharing a story of how God met me in the middle of a grocery store aisle and whispered a sweet reminder that true hope does not disappoint. I...

What I Wore

Just when I thought Spring had sprung we had a little cold spell. So I pulled out my boots for just about 10 more minutes. Which made me super happy because I wore them to speak a little hope to a room full of sweet moms. Also, I did not faint or get sick right before...

Christ Lives In Me

The Lord mostly speaks to me when I am sitting with the Him in the quiet of the morning, pouring out my heart over His open Word. Sometimes, He chooses other times and places to begin a conversation. This week it was in worship. Sunday morning I had been faced with...

You Are Deeply Loved

We sat in a circle talking about true love and what it means when I asked my four girls a simple question:  “Why do daddy and I love you?”  The four of them began to popcorn answers back and forth and trying to one up the other but what all amounted to...

What I Wore

A couple of years ago I started posting my What I Wore Wednesday posts because I loved reading them on other people's blogs. I also needed a little extra motivation to get up, get dressed, and try a little harder to pull my "look" together. It really is mostly just a...
