Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.
Every Bitter Thing is Sweet
Two years ago I sat in a hotel room across from my friend Sara Hagerty. We were bonding over mom stories, writing, and having a few days off while attending the DOT Mom conference. Instead of going to dinner with the group, we opted for a pizza and two Diet Cokes in...
Lately
There are no less than six books on my nightstand waiting to be read. Some of them are by friends I dearly love. I really do want to read them. All of them. The trouble is my prime reading time is right before bed and lately I've been just too tired to read more than...
What I Wore
Happy October friends! I hope you get to enjoy fall where you are. We have had rain. Oh.So.Much.Rain. And I'm pretty much over it. I noticed the other day that people aren't even bothering to use umbrellas anymore. They are just going with it and getting wet. We have...

September Goals
Goals are good. Writing down goals is even better. I really don't want my month to be like last Saturday when I seemed to be busy doing nothing all day long. I have no idea what got finished, I think I just moved stuff from here to there and back again. Anyway, I'm...
What I Wore
So many fun friends are pulling together their Fall Capsule Wardrobes and I am 100% jealous. Because here in Florida it is so hot that my Fall Capsule Wardrobe is really the same as my Summer Capsule Wardrobe. I know when it is January and I do not have 5 feet of snow...
Are a Mom of a Freshman in High School ?
Are a mom of a freshman in high school this year? Me, too. The more I think about it them more weepy I get. But, even though I would like to push the pause button, I know deep down inside I can't. It helps that my daughter is ready and completely cool with her new...
