Everything started here
I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.
It was through learning to write and create content there (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.
Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are bookish by nature.
But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.
And I suspect I always will.

September Goals
Goals are good. Writing down goals is even better. I really don't want my month to be like last Saturday when I seemed to be busy doing nothing all day long. I have no idea what got finished, I think I just moved stuff from here to there and back again. Anyway, I'm...
What I Wore
So many fun friends are pulling together their Fall Capsule Wardrobes and I am 100% jealous. Because here in Florida it is so hot that my Fall Capsule Wardrobe is really the same as my Summer Capsule Wardrobe. I know when it is January and I do not have 5 feet of snow...

Are a mom of a freshman in high school this year? Me, too. The more I think about it them more weepy I get. But, even though I would like to push the pause button, I know deep down inside I can't. It helps that my daughter is ready and completely cool with her new...

When Wild Obedience Looks Like A Weepy Hot Mess of a Girl
Friends lets be honest for a minute. It looks like to me the world is getting uglier everyday. I can't wrap my mind around the crazy and the reality of what tomorrow holds. People are angry. Some are broken. And I'm pretty sure I don't have anything useful to add to...
{This} Writer’s Prayer
First make me a listener. Give me ears to hear what you are speaking. Shut out the noise all around and let it be your voice that rises above every other. I ask for eyes to see the world brand new every day. Let the miraculous lovely rise up out of the crazy busy and...
What I Wore (At Declare)
I went to Dallas. I ate REAL Tex-Mex.( Thanks Heather!) I worshipped. I learned a ton. I talked non-stop. I spoke. And I came back home to my people. The Declare Conference was awesome. I will tell you more about it later this week. But what oh what did I wear? Since...
