Everything started here

I started writing on a blog called 29 Lincoln Avenue sixteen years ago. The name for my first blog came from the street address of the home I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana. I loved the idea of inviting you into my “blog home” every week.

It was through learning to write and create content there  (and then here) that I discovered my love for words and my voice as a writer. When I started, Twitter and Facebook were the  rage and blogging found a unique place that would be writers (like me) were able to practice publishing more than a handful of words at at time.

Through blogging I started writing books. I am eternally grateful for that opportunity to put something more of my heart in the hands of those who are  bookish by nature.

But even with Instagram, youTube, and every other social media option out there—I still love to add a few words here.

And I suspect I always will.

Behind the Scenes: Let’s Talk About My New Bible Study

I've been a Bible Study Girl since my freshman year at Indiana University. I was walking back from class praying that God would help me find a group of Jesus loving students,  when I saw a sign in an elevator in my dorm about a women's Bible study. I immediately went...

Lately

I went to the beach last weekend for a lovely retreat with even lovelier women. I watched the sun show off two mornings in a row and I wondered if the moon was ever jealous. Glory. The sun comes up and my soul fills up. I've been thinking about being mom to four...

What I Wore

Nothing new today. I am finding myself on repeat tons with my clothes and that is not necessarily a bad thing. I loved what Hayley said last week about it. She is revisiting her No Brainer Wardrobe for 31 Days. It is rich with wisdom. Anyway, she said it is OK to have...

What I Wore

This week it happened. I am the mother of a fourteen year old. Which means, it is getting harder to hide my age. She is super sweet and this week I took her to the make-up counter for the first time. We met the sweetest lady named Sandy who set her up nicely with a...

5 Things I Learned in September

1. Releasing a book is sort of kind of like having a baby. I am not the first person to say this, but this is the first time I have released a solo book project and it is the first time I have felt this way. So, I'm going to say it like I'm the only person who has...

What I Wore

I keep seeing all the fall fashions and thinking how nice it must be to have boots with boot socks and sweaters wrapped around your shoulders while you sip Salted Carmel Mochas and enjoy football games. It is 82 degrees and raining here. So, I'll just share my...
